Study or 5th Bedroom
Situated alongside the entertainment lounge/guest sitting room/office lobby this room can be used equally well as either a 5th bedroom or the hub of a home office. It is here that the technical core of the house lies concealed behind a wall of panelled cupboards. Included here are the main switchboard cable management system and the central hub and racking system for the home theatre, DVD, VCR, Sky decoder and central sound system.
In the floor under the desk is a control panel giving access to all the telephone, sound, TV, computer and power points that a sophisticated home office would require. This is also repeated in the skirting in case the room was to be used as a bedroom and the room is wired for sound through the ceiling. The lighting and sliding exterior shutters are identical to those in the other bedrooms but the floor is a dark, dramatic sweep of recycled iron bark, stained and polished to match the other timber features of the house.
