Bathrooms

Bathroom 1

This bathroom lies to the west of the entertainment lounge and so provides a noise buffer from the home cinema should the room next to it be used as a bedroom. It has a generously proportioned white tiled wet area type where two could comfortably shower together for nothing but pleasure. Tap-ware is from the Dorn Braght Meta range, the basin is from Vero and the basin Phillippe Stark. Walls are made from polished exposed aggregate concrete with ample recessed mirrored cupboards, and the floor is made from slabs of honed basalt. Soft, flattering concealed lighting, a custom made heated towel rail and under-floor heating ensure that no luxury is spared.

Ensuite Bathroom

This is a bathroom designed with both drama and comfort in mind. The heated floor is made from honed basalt slabs whose natural strength and qualities echo the Zen inspired design elements in other parts of the house. In this room the Japanese theme moves into the bath-house, but this is a bath-house with an industrial edge. The walls on two sides and the deep tub are made from solid sweetly scented cedar while the other wall, which contains generous recessed mirror fronted cabinets is ground concrete which adds a texture all of its own and echoes the use of concrete in other parts of the house. As in the other bathrooms all tap-ware is from the Dorn Braght Meta range, the simple square wall-hung basins are by Vero and the wall-hung lavatory is by Phillippe Stark and added touches of luxury are in the shape of custom made heated towel rails and ceiling speakers connected to an intelligent management system.

Bathroom 3

The upstairs bedrooms are serviced by a bathroom, no less luxurious than the ensuite along the passage, or the one downstairs. Like them it has the same basalt slab floors, and ground concrete walls containing generous concealed cupboards. Again Stark and Vero white ware is used and Dorn Braght taps. In this bathroom, instead of the cedar tub, or the dual shower area, you get a floor to ceiling window on one side of the shower which positively embraces the rural view outside, (although you can pull down a discretely hidden blind if you feel a bit exposed) Again, a custom made heated towel rail provides an elegantly pared down touch of minimalist chic and concealed lighting is soft and flattering.
